Jumbo Offshore, the Dutch heavy lift contractor said it has successfully hooked up Golar LNG’s Hilli Episeyo floating LNG vessel to the subsea anchor system, umbilical and gas riser in Kribi field, offshore Cameroon.

The company transported and installed a soft yoke anchor system, before hooking-up the Golar’s first dedicated floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) unit, it said in a statement.

After the mooring system installation, the company focused on project management and engineering, subcontractor management, charter of diving support vessel, managing client expectations and diving support vessel.

“Jumbo has done a tremendous job to install the Hilli Episeyo on the pre-installed anchoring system,” said Tim Klieverik, project manager of Jumbo. “We showed we can keep control in difficult situations and stick to the pre-defined plans.”

The allocated reserves of 500Bcf will be produced at a rate of 1.2 million tons of LNG per year, over an estimated eight-year period. Hilli Episeyo is expected to produce 30,000 tons of domestic gas every year and 5,000 barrels of condensate every day.

Golar LNG, Cameroon’s state-owned oil and gas company Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) and Perenco Cameroon (Perenco) are JV partners in the Kribi gas field.
