Flowserve AlMansoori Services, a maintenance, repair and overhaul company, has launched a new facility in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi that will expand its operations and allow business growth.

The joint-venture between Flowserve and AlMansoori Services since 1993, has expanded its operations from servicing submersible pumps and motors installed in ADNOC Onshore oil fields to doing repairs, maintenance and overhaul service for conventional pumps manufactured by Flowserve and other major OEM from the industry supporting the oil and gas sector.

“Our focus was only on the oil and gas industry, but with the satisfaction of our customers, today, we have many other sectors who are receiving our services,” Adel Ahmed Baobaid, president of AlMansoori said at the launch of the new 3,500 square metre facility, which expands the company’s existing space by over three and a half times.

The company, which also celebrated 22 years of zero Loss-Time-Incident – the industry’s measure for health and safety standards, currently also services water and electricity, sewage and general industry in UAE, Oman and Kuwait.

General Manager of Flowserve AlMansoori Services, Robert Macleod said the new facility will help the business grow due to increased capacity. “Our clients can see that we have the space, the capability, machine tool to manage the repair and overhaul the pumps. We expect our growth over the next one to two years to be 25-30 per cent,” he said.

The company’s main services include overhaul and repair of centrifugal pumps from the oil and gas, water and electricity and general industries. Meanwhile, it also overhauls and repairs mechanical seals. Its engineering services include site pump performance/efficiency testing, system engineering and troubleshooting, system and pump modification, technical analysis including vibration and rotor dynamic analysis or even total rotating equipment asset management through its Life Cycle Advantage Program.

Additionally, the company offers specialist services including hydraulic, mechanical and material upgrades on Flowserve and all other OEM equipment.

“Our new facility is approx. 3.5 times larger than the previous facility. The board of directors have taken the decision to invest in a new facility to allow us to expand and grow our operations and create a greater service capability to our clientele here in Abu Dhabi and beyond,” Macleod added.

While margins have shrunk for service providers in the industry as clients look to cut costs in a low oil price environment of the last few years, Macleod said that he sees a brighter future ahead.

“I believe that the current restructuring within the oil industry has been completed. We’re probably seeing the end of the last 18- months in regards to the oil price, which seems to be stabilising,” he added.
